We purchased windows from Barry Phillips, 237 Braden Court, Clinton, TN and Barry had Chris Miller install the windows. All the product came from Alside, Inc.

in Knoxville, TN. This installation was done in 2008 and 2009 for 23 windows. In 2012 we started taking quotes for siding and noticed the windows were black where the silicone/caulking was sealing the windows to the wrap. I called Barry Phillips and he said to try clorox or a mildew cleaner.

I tried both and several other items. Barry then said it was Alside problem. I called Alside and I have heard every excuse. Alside could not even tell me what product was used for the silicone.

Finally they tell me what product was used. I sent a sample to the manufacturer and guess what not their product. Then Alside tells me it is another product. I get in touch with that manufacturer and that product has not been made in 15 years.

Now Alside says no it is this product by the same company. Today we had a company inspect the windows and the silicone is not holding the windows and wrap together and water has been getting into the wood.

Please do not go through what we are do not use Barry Phillips, Alside or Chris Miller in Knoxville TN area.

Monetary Loss: $1035.

Location: Nashville, Tennessee

Silicone is ***, should have used polyurethane or tar tape the nailfin. Not to mentionย waitingย 4 years before the siding went on.

Alside Sells windows and yes caulking. But the caulking they sell comes from a completly different manufacture.Your controctor purchase very cheap silcone caulking.Acetic Silcone caulk will not stick to a vinyl window in the long run. Contractor should have used Quad caulking

No clue how you can think this is a window (Alside) problem when you CLEARLY state the issue is in the sealant used to attached the wrap to the window. Alside doesn't sell sealant.

They don't sell wrap (metal). Again, how or why you come to the conclusion that the window is, in any way, bad is beyond me.

Your problem is not with the windows. Barry is your problem.

Alside sold windows to a contractor. The contractor bought the caulking. where he bought it does not matter. He installed the product, not Alside.

they are a manufacture, and wholesale co. nothing to do with dirty caulk. They could not give you an answer, because its not their job to answer for bad installations. if you window breaks, they will fix it.

the window is not broken. the caulk the contractor used is no good.Barry,s fault
